iOS safari accessing camera having low quality video.

I've a video uploading platform.

iOS Safari gives three option when we click on Upload button.

Take Video
Photo Library
Browse

When we click on Take photo that open camera with Photo and Video options.

When I record video from there, It's having low quality video and shows less options as compare to dedicated camera App.

While recording from Camera app gives perfect quality video and that can be choose by User from Photo Library.

As user can select both options, but getting different quality affecting overall user experience.

Any suggestion/input to have this fixed?

Hey There,

Any luck with recreating this issue in any iOS Safari.

Any suggestion/Solution for it?

Please help me, iPhone users are using my app very less.

I've tried same issue from few devices like iPhone 7 plus, iPhone Xs and Xr.

But all of them are having this problem, none of them giving me clear picture while recording video from Safari.

It seems like embedded Camera in Safari is not able to manage the camera focus.

Looking forward to have some solution/updates soon.

Hello Hrn74,

Based on your post it seems you’re having issues uploading high quality videos using Safari and a specific website, correct? I can understand why that would be an issue, especially since you’re able to take high quality photos using the Camera app.

How long has this been an issue?

Does this only seem to occur using this specific website while uploading videos?

Have you tested using different video formats? Record HD or 4K video with your iPhone

If so, you can use the steps in the following article to help isolate the issue to Safari itself.

If Safari displays a blank page or quits on your iPhone

If the issue seems to only occur while uploading to this specific site, have you tried reaching out to the developers of the site or platform to report the issue?

Choose any iPhone(updated non updated).

Open Safari browser.

Go to any website that allows to upload file.

Click on upload button.

Click on "Take Photo or Video" button.

Shoot a video and check the quality of it.

That's it.

You will found very low quality video is being shoot, while from camera app it's having good quality.

Is there any setting that needs to be done for safari to access camera?
