Series 5 watch

My wife and I purchased Series 5 watches, primarily for the health reasons. I am extremely disappointed that we can't export the data to an Excel file. We could have gotten a less expensive watch that would do that. Will that change soon?

If you go to the Health app on the iPhone, tap on your profile button in the upper right corner after opening Health. That page should have your name, medical details, accounts, Privacy, and then below that, Export All Health Data. Tap on that button, and it will prepare and export your health data. Depending on how much information you have, it can take a little while to prepare. Once prepared, you will get a zip file notification for a file called Export, and the share screen, to determine where you want the file. You can email it to yourself, or save it to Files. You are then prompted for the location if you save to files, you should then be able to open it in Excel. If you email it to your computer, you should also have access to it in Excel.

I testing mine again a little while ago and found I had an issue. For me, I AirDropped it to my MacBook Air. I couldn't email it because of the size of the file, and using Excel in iOS is not the most robust of its uses. I know that I have a great deal of Health data on my iPhone, so it creates a large file. Depending on the type of program you are trying to use to open the XML file can also have an affect on the result. I did a Google search, and found something that talked about the type of profile used when creating the XML file. I couldn't get the XML file to open on my Mac, so I've looked for another way. I did it before when Apple first set it to be able to download Health data and it worked fine. I'm trying to determine what they changed, and haven't gotten a result yet. I'll keep searching, but you may also wish to search for Health data on iPhone and how to export, and also opening an XML file in whatever computer OS you use.
