Brand new Beats Solo Pro crackling on power-up on left side

I just bought a pair of beats solo pro headphones last week, and I'm noticing a strange crackling sound on the left side.

Once every so many times, after powering up the device by unfolding, there is a crackling sound on the left side. Restarting the headphones by folding and unfolding solves the issue.

As far as I can tell, the issue is not related to ANC, and playing music does not change the noise.

It seems to me that it is a software issue, since it only happens once in a while, and the noise sounds very artificial, not like a loose connection or something.

Has anyone else experienced this issue as well?

Hi nooki,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're hearing an intermittent crackling noise on the left side of your Beats Solo Pro headphones. I also see that restarting your Beats will temporarily resolve the issue when it occurs. I know it's important to get the best sound from your Beats; I'd like to help. Based on what you've tried so far, I'd suggest using these steps to reset your Beats next:

"Reset Solo Pro

    1. Hold down the mode button and volume down button for 10 seconds.
    2. When the LED flashes red, release the buttons.

Your headphones are now reset and ready to be set up with your devices again."

Reset your Beats on-ear or over-ear headphones

If you're connected to an iOS device, your Beats should stay updated automatically. If your Beats are paired with a different product and experiencing this behavior, try checking for a firmware update using the steps here: Update the firmware of your Beats product

Should the behavior persist, you'll want to reach out to Apple for additional assistance: Get Support

Best Regards.
