Spectrum (I hate it) and Applemail

Why is my (stny.rr.com) email not going out, the error saying it can't connect to the TWC server? When I phoned them, they said they can't keep up with Apple constantly updating and suggested I pick antoher mail program that doesn't update!!!!!

Plus several emails come in every day that say "this message has no content" so I can't actually get the content of some important emails.

What can I do? I am on a MacBook Air. And please, in your response, assume I am not techincally aware.

They're blaming the problems of their own email system on Apple? Also, assuming stny.rr.com is spelled correctly, according to isitup.org, the site is down.

An email is an email is an email. It doesn't matter what OS or email client it's coming from or going to. It's either a valid address or it isn't.

What you need is a new email service. Gmail is one possible option.

Comcast provides my Internet and TV cable feed. I do not use Comcast as my Mail ISP, any more than you need Road Runner for yours. The suggestion of a different Mail ISP is sound, and then you won't have to listen to RR's tech support blame Apple just to get you off the phone.

By the way, I have no choice as far as internet providers where I live. It is Spectrum, formerly Time Warner Cable. No other option here for high speed internet, as terrible as that is, I am stuck with it. STNY stands for Southern Tier New York.
