downgrade to itunes

I really hate the new Podcast app that Apple created. There are no good 3rd party solutions. The iTunes interface served me the best. Is there any way to get iTunes (12.9 or whatever) to work on MacOS Catalina?

Nope. You'll have to downgrade back to 10.14 Mojave to get the old software back. Or partition a drive with Mojave to use for just your iTunes Library, depends on how bad you want to stay on Catalina.

That would be a mistake if you need help. There is a good reason unsupported modifications are not recommended on ASC. It can make the system unstable and the next time you update it can bork your system. Most users don't want to go through the recovery process over and over. It also makes it difficult to diagnose other problems when someone has unsupported hacks/patches installed.

Just food for thought.
