Ford Sync 3 freezes when doing a new search
When attempting to start a new search on ipod, (artist, album, song, genre, etc) using the controls for Sync 3 on my 2017 Ford, the screen freezes and all controls (steering wheel control buttons, rotary and push buttons and touchscreen buttons) become unresponsive. It will continue to have this behavior until I unplug my ipod from the usb port, at which point all the inputs that I have made are now realized (volume will become erratic, all the inputs that I made on the touchscreen and steering wheel will happen). Once I plug my ipod back in, it will work only for a short while, and then the same thing will happen again. I can usually get one search in before it will happen again. While listening to an album, all inputs will respond correctly and accurately, but when I attempt another search it will cause errors again. When listening to the FM or satellite radio, Bluetooth audio from my phone, or a CD, I will not have these errors. I am assuming that the cable that I use is fine, as it is the cable that came with my ipod and has not been used for any other device or location besides my car. I do not use apple devices any other place but my car. I have not tried to use the Bluetooth function of the ipod because I need it to be receiving a charge, otherwise it will die every few days. I have taken my Ford to the dealership where they told me that some audio logic box was giving them error codes and that was replaced. They helped me do a soft reset to Sync 3 which did not help the problem and I have done a factory reset to Sync 3 which also did not help the problem. ipod version: 11.4 (15F79) Model: MKWP2LL/A. In my general settings there is an update for IOS, but the description says that it's only for ipad and iPhone, which this is not.
