Is iDrop News Legit or Spam/Scam?

I've been getting emails recently from iDrop News. I'm unclear as to how I got added to their distro list. I have read some of their articles and they seem generally helpful and interesting if you can get past and ignore the ads on the site. What's concerning is that when I click on the links from emails now, on my Desktop Mac, it fails to load the page nowadays. It says basically that Safari couldn't load the page because the URL was blocked by a content blocker. I'm not sure but it may be referring to the fact AdBlock Plus is enabled. Still, I'd expect the page to load regardless, so long as there wasn't any malicious coding on the site. Any input/feedback/experiences on this are welcome.
