Billing info

I just requested a new phone since the back of my phone is broken... why is the subtotal 1209$ do they put a temporary hold on for the full amount or just the 99$ until the phone is returned?

this is very misleading

Next time you post a problem you should provide all the pertinent information. That was not the case here. As for what you were told or not told I cannot comment. We have no way of knowing what was related in the conversation. If you have a question about the billing, then see If you see 'itunes.com/bill' or an unfamiliar charge on your statement.

Ummm.......To me VERY MISLEADING!

I spoke with a representative and he tells me that I have insurance so the cost to repair my phone by going into and Apple store will cost 100$ OR I Can have a new one sent right to me for the same price! I decide to have them send me a new phone and pay the 100$ and nothing is presented to me that I will be charged 1,209$ AT ALL!. YES that is misleading and very poor customer service.

also on the link it tells me 99! Subtotal and 1209$ total! That makes no sense to me!

this should be communicated to the customer, I even read the fine print and nothing!!!


So therefor I am confused, am I charged $1209 or 99?

is it a hold for the full amount?

its not clear! Especially when this could have been prevented when I spoke with a rep the 1st time!

If you take it into an Apple Store you can get it replaced at the Genius Bar for $99.


If you want an express replacement, where they send you a replacement phone, then you return yours, the hold will be for the full value of the new phone. If you don't return your broken one as required, you have to pay full price for the new one. If you return the old one, the hold will be lifted and you'll only be charged $99.
