File sharing with Catalina

I've recently updated both my iMac and MBP to Catalina and ever since I can't share files which I was able to do until the OS upgrade. The message which I get when trying to access iMac from MPB is below. This message appears regardless of the folder that I try to access. Please advise. Thank you.

The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Downloads” can’t be found.
