Trying to sign in to Apple TV w 2 factor ID

I just spent a frustrating hour trying over and over again to sign into Apple TV but but when I get the verification code w the 2 factor authentication system, the Apple TV prompt just keeps sending me back to sign in over and over again and never prompts me for the verification code.

I read a hack that you just append the code to your password, but that did not work.

And with this incredibly clutzy Apple TV remote, it takes forever. Just to have it not work.

So....this should be a 10 second thing if designed properly.

Any tips?
