iMessage: Received a .png file I can't open that looks like a white piece of paper?

How can I fix this? I assume people are trying to send me a photo but this is what I receive. When I click it, nothing happens. When I hold it in, all I can choose do is delete it or cancel.

I thought maybe it was because I didn't have enough storage, so I freed up more than enough room. Can't find any recent solutions online about it because I guess it's hard to describe without a photo. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

iPhone XS, iOS 13

This is probably not downloaded yet on your iPhone due to poos internet connection. The file should open up if it is an image file on the iMessage itself.

For your Internet connection.

  • Over Cellular: contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider). The agency who issued the SIM to you
  • Over WiFI: Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider), the agency who provided the Internet Service on your Modem/Router to you

This is want a .png file iMessage will look like. (Watch the GIF below)
