Wifi extremely slow Catalina

I recently bought a MacBook Pro and the wifi download speed has always been slow. I am getting on average 400 KB/s while on my pc (ethernet) I'm getting 7-8 MB/s. I haven't yet tried ethernet on my Mac because I haven't got a converter to ethernet but I believe that the wifi is slower than it should be.

Have you been able to test on a faster network— to see if everything comes into parity...

those numbers (including your Ethernet) are painfully slow in general, they hardly register.

Your signal strength is EXCELLENT.

However, your Router is a certifiable antique, (it does not seem to offer the 5GHz band) and you have so many neighbors that a dual-band Router is a requirement for good throughput.

You can ADD another Router without removing that one if you wish, but it would have to be connected with an Ethernet cable. By the way, since you are obviously right on top of your Router, why aren't you just using an Ethernet cable to your computer? what model year early mid late screen size and processor speed?

the top baseband speed in 802.11n in the 2.4GHz band is about 65M Bits/sec.

You are using two spatial streams (two antennas) and the best modulation technique possible to attain twice that, or about 130M Bits/sec. (MCS Index 15 and Number of Spatial Streams 2).

Recent MacBook Pro in good working order have three antennas available, and can use 802.11ac if the 5GHz band were available. That would yield a minimum of twice your reported speed, and possibly as much as 8 times or more faster.

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?

Seems you have a bug in your Mac. You have a one-year limited-warranty. So, rather than risk dead Mac's Wi-Fi operability, take this into Apple. Ask Apple Support about this when calling them.

Have Apple look into this. Start by contacting Apple***, and request that a Genius Bar Appointment be Reserved. You would take this to your Local Apple Store, during which the battery and all other necessities would be looked at.

Yes: The WiFi is slow. So, contact Apple and see what they have to say.

Apple sent me a box recently due to this Coronavirus of sorts going around and taking it in to a local Apple store not being an option at the moment. They are looking at it at the moment.

The Wi-Fi is running at the TOP speed possible on the 2.4GHz band using two antennas.

Since there are only 3 clear channels in that band, with 13 other Routers visible, it is unlikely to be able to run any faster in that neighborhood.

I do not see a reason to send that computer to Apple for an indefinite amount of time. It looks to me like that computer is "making the best out of a Bad Situation".
