iphone not ringing audibly when bluetooth headset it connected.

I recently replaced a 2 year old Jabra bluetooth headset with a new Jabra Talk 15 bluetooth headset and now when the headset is connected through bluetooth, my iPhone 8 rings through the headset and will not ring audibly. It rang just fine when I used my old headset, the phone would ring, I would grab my headset, put it on and press the answer button. No problem. Now I can't hear the phone ring because its ringing through the headset and I am constantly missing calls. How can I make my phone ring audibly when it is connected to a bluetooth headset?

Here's what I have checked so far. The phone is not muted by the mute button on the side. The volume is turned up 100%. When I disconnect this turn off bluetooth the phone rings audibly just fine.

Thanks,

-Mark

Hello dmc1228,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that your iPhone 8 doesn't ring through your iPhone speaker when it's connected to your Bluetooth Jabra headset, and I'd like to help.

Often, when Bluetooth headphones are connected in Settings > Bluetooth, calls may ring through the headphones. On the other hand, if they're simply paired and not showing as connected in Settings, then calls will typically be heard through the iPhone speakers.

From there, I suggest testing this concern with multiple iOS devices to your Jabra headset, both paired and connected. Also, if you're able, try using Apple-branded headphones to further isolate the issue to the headphones.

If you're finding that it's still not working as expected, make sure both devices are near each other, then restart them both to test again.

I hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
