Wedding invitations - Setting Dimensions

Hi there,

I'm trying to make the dimensions on a Keynote slide the same as a 8.5x11 piece of printed paper. I want to be able to mark where two 7x5 vertical invitations could fit. Is there a way to make it so the slide is a perfect 8.5x11 and then show the rulers in inches so I can create guides? Thanks!

Text Box - Resizing Handles - On All 4 Sides, or Just at the Top & Bottom I work in Keynote editing PowerPoint presentations for my organization. I am still a beginner with Keynote. I've noticed that the text box style on the slides I work on (converted from .ppt) appears to be random. Some have boxes with 4 resizing white dots, one on each side. Other text boxes only have a resizing white box on the sides. On these latter boxes, the box just resizes automatically as you type, which is no good if you have more text for your font than the slide allows. How can get text boxes that have exclusively 4 resizing handles? Alternatively, how can convert the two handled resizing boxes to 4 handled ones?

Apple Pages Book Landscape Format - Why So Large? While creating a class handout book in Pages, I discovered the standard format is 14.28 inches wide by 10.67 inches high. Why so large? It doesn't appear to be any standard publishing format! And when I resize the template to 11 inches by 8.5 inches, all of the paragraph and image styles no longer fit! Are there standard US or ISO Page templates or do I have to create my own publishing/printing template with all the different page, image, and paragraph format styles? IMVHO, it would seem that Apple would have provided standard US or ISO template sizes. Any suggestions or links to solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. John

is it possible to format a centre spread across 2 facing pages I'm trying to create a newsletter, printed on A3 paper and folded in half so it's a 4 page document, each individual page being A4 size. I want the centre pages, ie pages 2 and 3, to be combined into a centre spread - so images, text boxes etc can span across the 2 pages. I'm using page layout setup, ie "Document Body" is not selected, and "Facing Pages" is selected. This is something I've been doing in ms publisher for some time, it's called "booklet, side-fold". Pages doesn't appear to have booklet style templates, and I can't find any help about this except a couple of questions from like 10 years ago. Is it possible? I have found publisher to be quite frustrating and I wanted to switch to pages, but if it can't do the centre spread I guess I'll just have to stick with publisher.

You need to do this in Pages.

Keynote is a video based presentation application and it can't scale and print to physical dimentions properly.
