Same here, i would just refuse shipment when it arrives.

I prefer the look of the rev 1 case also. The headphone hole isn't too bad. But the sim card hole was totally uncalled for IMO (neither of which was in the design when I placed my order).
I look forward to Larry Greenberg reporting back on the reception issue. As of yesterday, he told me he hasn't yet experienced anything out of the ordinary.

As for canceling your order, all I can say is notifying them via their online support form was for naught in my attempt. I guess I would email them at sales@elementcase.com, info@element.com and then call them, leaving a message if possible.

So after many calls this week trying to cancel my order I got an email saying it was shipped today. I am having second thoughts about getting this case now but since it is being shipped I will check it out and go from there. I never got in touch with anyone this week so that wasn't the reason why it shipped out today. Just coincidence I guess.

I, too, received word that mine had shipped even after leaving word to cancel my order (the "shipped" email conveniently came only a day or two after I had canceled my order). Tracking number in hand, I resigned myself to making the best of it knowing I would at least be able to test it out and report back.
Then I ran across an all too familiar post on another blog; someone else had the exact same story.
As of just a few minutes ago, 2.5 days after receiving my tracking number, the PO had still not received the package from ElementCase. Seems ElementCase had another stall tactic up their sleeve by making me/us think that generating a mailing label would suffice for mailing the actual package.
That was the final straw for me. Even if it shipped tomorrow I would find no enjoyment in carrying this case after how they have managed this project (in addition to physical changes they made to the case from the original that I dislike immensely).
The person on the other blog site filed a complaint with paypal and received a refund.
I gave ElementCase until Friday to refund me or I will do the same.
Sigh.......

Received mine yesterday. Ordered on 7/3/10.

The case is a quality piece. No signal issues whatsoever.

The only problem, for me, with the case is its bulk.

I have been used to much thinner items on my 3GS.

Therefore... I'm not keeping the case. Going to put it on
eBay at a _good price_ and let someone else enjoy it.

Again, nothing wrong with the case... just not my style.

Thanks, makan1. I got a notice this morning that ElementCase had refunded me. Hasn't hit my paypal account yet so I won't feel totally free of this fiasco until I see it deposited.

That's certainly good news (re: you got it). Thanks for the update. Nice to hear it is a quality case even though too large for you.
I sincerely hope ElementCase works out their problems. Everyone wants a company with a quality product to succeed. I just couldn't put up with the problems any longer.

Sell quick ... They are going for 150+ on eBay

I would be hesitant to purchase any case made out of aluminum as it is a signals worst enemy.

Thanks for your mini review post, could you check (if you can), to see if after market charging or docking plugs have any trouble docking?

I have just received the case from a friend in the USA.

As expected it considerably attenuates the GSM signal.

I ordered and am holding out for this. I hope to get it this week or next...it's in "awaiting fulfillment" status--since last Friday. Funny how efficient their payment process works! 😉

I am not a fan of the SIM cutout and hope my black/black with CF does not have it...does anyone really remove the SIM that often to need a cutout for it?
