Apple Music is SO SLOW

Same here. Even scrolling is slow. Compared to AM, Spotify is lightning fast.

Almost everything about Mac OS is slow these days.

Same. m1, mac os Monterey.

Even with Monterey the app is unusable. I need to upload my old iTunes library to other apps.

Lags, slowness, and an interface that was a thousand times better in iTunes. I want iTunes back :(

How sad in 2021 im using Apple music on an apple laptop and its works as well as square wheels? I'm definitely switching to the far superior spotify once the month ends

Monterey 12.2: still no fix. Bugs, lags, lags, slowness... I'm really fed up!!!

The problem is not your music app, but the service itself ! I'm not a user of Apple products and services. I begun to try Apple Music with a 3 free months offer. I really like the Apple Music app on Android. Nice design and the lyrics is a kill feature. But... On computer (Windows, Linux) I use Apple Music On Web. It's extremly slow to load, slow to play (I click on a song and it takes up to 10 secs to play). It happens on Chrome, Firefox, Edge... all browsers.

This year, I tried many music services : Deezer, Tidal, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Spotify (that is my favorite and main service all days)... No one have the same performance issue of Apple Music. They load fast and works well. Spotify have a nice app that runs fast on Windows and Linux (others are web based).

I cancelled my Spotify renewal some days ago. Since I play music also on computer and not just on mobile, I've just renewed it in the last hour ! Apple Music can't be my streaming service at all !

I followed advice deep in this thread and removed my Playlist Folders (moved Playlists from the folders into the main list) - and VOILA - after a program restart it's MUCH faster. I had previously deleted my legacy smart playlists, but was still having speed issues.

Try searching for 'François-Xavier Roth' in the Music app on MacOs. On my MBP 13" it starts searching and stops without a note after a few seconds.

and try the same search again. You get results immediately.

Me too, my mac is fine apart from APPLE MUSIC. iTunes worked fine. I use it to play MP3s that are stored locally on my macbook. Now APPLE MUSIC takes forever to load, spinning beach ball for every track, it is unusable. I have upgraded to Big Sur with no obvious improvement. Sadly I am going to have to migrate to another platform.

It is interesting to read that streaming is also slow, I had thought that perhaps APPLE were trying to persuade MP3 users to switch to streaming. Does anyone know if this is like to get fixed or if my time would be better used switching to another program?

I found the reason at least on my computer, there is software installed via MDM called Umbrella Roaming Client, and with this, the Apple Music and App Store goes extremely slow.

I still have this issue. I just subscribed to Apple Music and it loads songs really slowly...

I am with BigSur and Macbook pro. obviously, everything works fine and the internet connection is great.
