belkin thunderbolt 3 dock w/ LG Ultrafine Monitor
Hello, I’m looking at abandoning Windows and building a Mac environment.
My plan is to have a new MacBook Pro hooked to a Belkin F4U095tt Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock which would then drive an LG 27MD5KL-B 27" Ultrafine LCD 5K Monitor. (All sold by Apple).
I have a couple of questions for someone who’s build a similar setup:
Reading specs, the monitor has no controls, and wakes/sleeps by being plugged into the MacBook (I assume it also sleeps when the MB goes to sleep. However with the dock inserted in the middle, will this behavior remain the same, or will the dock force it to remain awake?
i.e. When you plug a running MBP into the doc, or power-on a currently connected MBP , does the dock ‘wake up’ the monitor and other connected devices? (drives & Ethernet).
Thanks
