AirPods pro - no sound with Samsung Smart TV

I have paired my AirPods Pro with my new Samsung smart TV, and it shows they’re connected, but I get no sound. I have previously paired other Bluetooth headphones with this TV and got sound just fine. My AirPods also work fine with my iPhone. How do I fix this?

Anyone got a fix for this? I USED to be able to connect, no problem but now it doesn’t work. It works with my Partner’s identical air pods pro. It connects. It makes the noise to say it has connected. Just no sound.

I have experience this issue when my AirPods Pro updated to a new firmware version. At first I thought the issue must be in the in the spatial audio function - since my TV must be trying to send the sound using the technology, so I turned it off. It didn’t work. Then I’ve done both of these actions:

  1. Under the AirPods Pro settings I have changed the options under “press and hold AirPods” to “Noise control” for both left and right AirPods Pro. Previously option “Siri” was assigned to either “left” or “right” AirPods.
  2. I have turned off Bluetooth on my iPhone when connecting AirPods to my TV.

My Airpods Pro connect without any issues to my Samsung Smart TV ever since - end they don’t lose connection. I hope this helps.

It took a little while but I got it working. I wasn’t trying to pair to a TV, but a little Bluetooth transmitter.

Just like everyone else, it would connect but no sound. On the website I’ll link below, I did method 1 and that worked.

I had to remove my AirPod Pros from my phone first, then I cleared the AirPods by pressing and holding the pair button on the case until the orange light came on. Then I turned off my phone to get it to stop trying to pair with the AirPods. Even with Bluetooth off this will happen.

Finally, I paired with the device again, and I had sound. I was then able to pair with my phone again and it worked for both devices.

Here is the site that helped.

I had a similar issue, low sound, not no sound. They paired easily enough, but I couldn’t make them loud enough to enjoy. So, I retuned the AirPods Pros and bought Powerbeats Pros. They also had volume too low when I connected them, but because they have volume control right on the earbud, I am able to make them as loud as I can stand. They don’t have the active noise reduction, but since my primary use is to listen to my TV without disturbing others, they are perfect. And the 9 hour battery life is even better!

I gave up and returned AirPods as I was unable to use as desired with Sanyo 65in Bravio. Required max volume on TV and muting to finally hear AirPods -- with silenced TV, only faint sound on AirPods -- controlled through iPhone. Complicated TV setting to shift from bluetooth speaker in bathroom to enable only one-person audio audio access through AirPodsin bed -- Then control volume through iPhone. Way beyond anything useful for my spouse -- or me. Best alternative -- the old one -- sleep phones and Great Courses (iPhone/IPad), vice AirPod / TV combo to induce sleep.

same issue however, My cable line comes in from the street and goes to my cable box (not my tv). From the box my audio goes out to a home theater system (not my tv). So pairing to the tv has no effect as there is no audio source at that point. I rewired the system so the audio also runs to the tv to make it available for the paired airbuds.

works great!

I thought I wasn't getting sound either, but it turns out that one of my pairs of air pod pro have to have the tv volume up really high. I set up the tv so that all the sound is going to the bluetooth transmitter, then have to really turn it up. The other pair I have needs much less volume, I don't know why. But the point is to turn up the sound on the tv really high before you give up.
