USB-C to HDMI not working, Showing in System report as USB 2.0 Billboard?

I have just purchased an Anker USB C to HDMI dongle to use for work connecting my mac to my second monitor, and it won't connect! It shows in System Report as USB 2.0 Billboard. I have tried multiple cables and even 2 other dongles and other screens and still no luck. Am getting to my wits end with it all and not really too keen on spending money on a 4th cable to get this to work!

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? Have tried so far installing drivers, and resetting my SMP and still no luck!
