Where do I click to search for apps or explore apps by categories in my app store on my iMac? Along the top I see Featured, Top Charts, Purchased, and Updates. When I click on any of these it does not give me an option to browse by categories.

I did not have categories showing, used the ⌘3 chord, and then did.
Others did not succeed.
That was with High Sierra.
Looks like it might be an App Store or back-end bug of some sort.
I was using High Sierra as was stated, and ⌘3 worked.
That test system is now on Mojave, and Categories remains available.
I’m hesitant to suggest clobbering the preferences, but that might be an option.
Contact Apple.
What is your macOS version, I'm on High Sierra and I can conform using ⌘3 doesn't solve this problem.
