This is partly true and partly false. The iPhone cannot be managed without the profile. If the phone is yours, you can remove the profile in System Preferences -> General -> Device Management -> {Profile Name} -> Remove Management (or Leave Remote Management). If you don't have this option, the only one who can remove it is whoever installed it with Apple Configurator 2 or whoever manages your company's mobile device management platform. I don't remove MDM from any devices my organization owns. Period. I also rarely allow exceptions to the limitations set in place.

The purpose of MDM is to regulate what can and can not be done on your phone. Even if you take everything off the phone, it will still be managed. The only way to get rid of MDM on an iPhone is to have your IT admin (or whomever controls the MDM) remove your iPhone from their software. This is simple to do, but unless you own the phone, I can't see an organization allowing you to have the MDM removed. There are hundreds of options in MDM, maybe you are wanting to access a feature that has been blocked on your device. If that is the case, contact your IT Admin and request the feature to be activated.

You will not be able to remove MDM from your phone by yourself.

If you trying to remove it from a Mac you may be able to do it by going to System Preferences --> Profiles. Select the MDM profile you want to remove and select the "-" symbol. Most MDM profiles are set to be unremovable. So your Mac Admin will have to remove your Mac from the scope of that profile.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello, saager.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

From what I understand is that you want to remove an MDM profile on your iPhone. I'd be glad to help. You can delete profiles by going to Settings > General > Profiles or Profiles & Device Management: How to delete an app that has a configuration profile on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you're unable to delete the profile, you'll need to get in contact of whoever administers the profile to assistance in removing it.

Cheers!
