The last system that HP provided a driver for was 10.12, Sierra. That's a while ago. With Catalina no 32 bit app will work. You can try repairing the printer system according to this Apple document: If you can't print from your Mac or iOS device - Apple Support

Try scanning with Preview or Image Capture.

Otherwise you may have to try some 3rd party apps, VueScan for scanning and Gutenprint for printing.

Well.. I thought it helped. normally after unplugging printer & replugging it somethimes prints 1x , as it printed 2x i thought problem solved .. but I was crying victory to soon. Today I tried 6 different ways of handling this problem on HP support but in vain..
