When will the OS Catalina be ready for Mac mini (mid 2010)? My machine still works perfectly and meets all of the other general requirements for update. It looks like currently the update is available for Mac Mini Late 2012 or newer. I was notified by one of my applications that my operating system will not support the application if it is updated any further. Thanks!
Never (unless something totally unlikely were to happen). Catalina is not compatible with Mac Minis introduced before 2012 and that is unlikely to ever change. See: How to upgrade to macOS Catalina - Apple Support

Why is that when the hardware works perfectly otherwise? If Apple is not allowing us to update our machines as with past OS rollouts, then it would seem they are forcing us to retire perfectly working machinery or buy new items from them. Is there anything technically that can be done?
10.13 High Sierra is the highest macOS that a 2010 Mac Mini can run.
The 2010 and 2011 Mac Mini’s do not have the graphic’s hardware that it takes to support the later macOS.
