Nike Training Club workouts missing from Activity app

Whenever I initiate work out in the Nike training club app it automatically starts tracking on my Apple Watch. When the workout is complete the calories from the workout is far less that when I accumulated actively working out. It seems that the activity app on my iPhone and Apple Watch are picking up the accurate calorie and move goals, but I cannot see the workouts in the activity app. It does not record the smaller inaccurate numbers. There seems to be a disconnect between the move goes capturing the work out but the actual work out displaying in the activity app. I don’t know who owns this particular bug or issue, whether it is Apple or Nike but it seems that it is persistent.

Hello SMichael98,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with your calorie tracking.

1. Are you checking your active calories vs. overall burned? Use the Activity app on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

2. If your numbers are still off, please ensure your iPhone is update to iOS 13.4. There are bug fixes and improvements which may help with the iPhone: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

3. Also ensure your Apple Watch is updated to watchOS 6.2, which includes improvements also. Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

4. If the issues remain, please ensure you are wearing the watch correctly as per this help article: Wearing your Apple Watch - Apple Support

5. Next, ensure nothing is blocking the sensors and other guidance provided here. The same things that affect the heart rate, affect wrist detection, and other fitness tracking: Your heart rate. What it means, and where on Apple Watch you’ll find it. - Apple Support

  • For best results, the back of Apple Watch needs skin contact for features like Wrist Detect, the Taptic Engine, and the heart rate sensor.
  • The sensors will work only if you wear Apple Watch on the top of your wrist.
  • Your Apple Watch should be snug but comfortable.

6. Lastly, you may need to calibrate the Apple Watch for improved accuracy. Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support

Thanks and have a wonderful day.

I have learned through messaging with Nike (via Twitter) that every so often you can log out of the Nike apps and restart your device then log back in. That sort of serves as a recalibration measure so the app accurately captures your caloric burn. I had issues recently with the Nike Run app not capturing my caloric burn properly when compared to my NordicTrack treadmill (via iFit). After logging out and restarting my iPhone and Apple Watch this seemed to recalibrate it. If that does not work try contacting Nike via direct message on Twitter. They can assist you that way and may ask for screen shots.

I reported the issue to Nike’s Twitter account so they can have their app team investigate. I had to provide screen shots and did a few tests so they can validate my issue. They passed it along to their app team. I’m still awaiting an update that it has been fixed. But they are aware of my issue. May want to reach out to them as well. The more reports then the more pressure to fix it.

This works for me BUT only if I start the Nike app first on my watch and *then* go back and start the proprietary Watch workout app. Otherwise if the Nike app starts over your Apple workout or you switch back to it, it stops your Apple workout altogether. I was so mad when a 45 min workout registered 8 calories because I forgot to swap back and track using the Watch app. 😡 I’ve noticed now there’s a pop up that says “start your workout from your watch for more accurate tracking”, but that’s false. It’s not more accurate at all.

I have the same problem where the workout I finish in the Nike Training Club app is not showing as a workout in the Activity app. I have done everything recommended in the response above and I’m still having problems. Doing all of the above recommendations I lost all my past data in the activity app (data for almost a year) so it’s not worth it. I love tracking my workouts and my heartbeat, but both apps have major flaws.

Same issue here. I love my Apple Watch and the Nike app. But I have to say the discouragement of nonsense data is pushing me to consider a different smart watch. I’ve had this issue so many times. I just did a HIT workout of 45 minutes. Burned over 240 calories and the Nike app shows 53. And my activity app shows no workouts even though it shows I exercised for 45 minutes. It sucks. I payed the membership and I invested in the Apple Watch. Everywhere I read is the same basic trouble shooting. I mean come on. And it looks like people have had this issue since 2017!

I’ve had the same problem! Sometimes if I workout, lets say on Monday, it registers as if I did it on Sunday! Same issue with the calories, a 45 min workout says I only burned 30 calories. Also, I thought the pausing thing was the issue, but I’ve done workouts without pausing and I still have problems registering. I’m going on twitter based on SMichael98’s recommendation.

I did my first NTC workout today and stopped multiple times to review the exercise instructions videos. After 30 minutes of workout it told me 60 calories.

Another problem that I have: I did the workout on my iPad. Later, it showed up also in the NTC app on my iPhone but it wouldn't sync with the activity/health apps anymore. Is there any way to achieve that? I need the big screen and there is no app for the iPad specifically

I used nike training app for the first time this week. Today I did 4 different workouts which were recorded on Apple Watch activity. But the each workout showed an accumulation of that workout’s calories and the previous workout’s calories. When synchronised to my fitness pal recorder I had burned over 1000 calories! Unfortunately this was not the case. Is there a fix as think the NTC app is really good but want to accurately record!
