Hello,

First, you can check your battery status in the Settings app through Setting > Battery > Battery Health. Any level under 80% indicates that you could very well experience battery problems due to aging of the battery.

If your battery starts draining much faster after a software update and the battery health is fine, you could try restoring your iPhone using Finder (on a Mac) or iTunes (on a PC). You can find instructions on how to do that at:

Please ensure you first make a backup in iCloud so you can restore it after restoring the iPhone.

Sorry, but I go back there and even further to iPods. And not it did not always get addressed within a few weeks for everyone. They were just fixed for you so you didn't care if other people still had problems. But also as time has gone on the OS has become much more complex and the permutations of possible software combinations is almost unfathomable.

What "firmware" are you talking about? iOS is software and is the operating system. I'm not have the problems you talk about on my iPhone 11 Plus Pro. The person I gave my XS Max to is not have battery problems, not on 13.4.1 and not on 13.4.5. Oof if is is a bug in the OS why is it not affecting me? Why is it not affecting my friend.

I deeply share your frustration because although 13.5(not allowed to say what version) fixed my phone I still had the problem for over a year after moving to ios13 but I really don't see how replacing the battery is going to fix your issue unless your battery health is showing a considerable drop in 10 months.

You can ask the drones at the store about the massive problem affecting so so many users but they will almost certainly say that they have never heard of it & give you some excuse or other.

Anyway good luck & I really hope they manage to fix your pocket warmer.

I have a 2month old iPhone 11 Pro - it is usually at about 50-70% battery life at the end of the day. The last two days it’s drained to in the red (<20%) in less than half a day.

My iPad mini 4 has been unused for a period - and left on the charger. Today it’s drained from 100% to 42% in just over an hour and hardly used. What is happening?? Both devices are running iOS 13.5.1

Well perhaps to kill your battery and make you buy the upcoming iPhone 12 ,s...

Unbelievable but could be true. I am also hugely disappointed from Apple , quality really down, software still best but the devices are poor quality, battery life sucks along with connectivity plus faulty screens on their flagships, £1000 for phone that has worst picture quality than iPhone 5s from 2013.,... soon I am going to the Apple sore to see the manager.

Man that’s crazy. I save up to buy my phones cash instead of getting into the crazy contract prices that our service providers charge here in South Africa. So that means a new phone for me every 3-4 years. Let’s hope next update or two fixes this.

i lost some of the data on my laptop so I can’t restore to previous version. Do you reckon if I back up my phone as is and do a full restore, will it maybe help?

It's crazy, but sometime, after several weeks of having this battery issue after the update to 13.6.1 or whatever # it was, the problem seemed to subside on its own. I had taken to turning my iPad Pro off when I was done using it and having to turn it on each time I wanted to look something up or play. Then one day after a charge I left it and a few hours later the battery was still nearly full, so I left it on after using it and battery drain was more or less back to normal. Knock on wood, whatever the issue was it solved itself. I've since updated to 14 and have not seen any noticeable issues -- still knocking on wood.

Lol knocking on wood you say! It’s crazy that we have to let things ride out like that but I guess that’s what needs to be done. Like I said in one of my previous responses on this thread: this is a trillion dollar company. I don’t expect anything to be perfect at launch or with subsequent updates but one would want things to be less bumpy. I understand Marion_PB frustration and things like this does test brand loyalty because you paying lots of dough for what is essentially a mobile telephone with internet connection so one would expect things to be more smooth sailing. My brand loyalty has not been tested...yet. Sometimes a little faith or knocking on wood that things will be good might just work out

What you mean by recovering? Like backing up phone and then resetting it clean and install back up? Spoke to two friends of mine, one who has a 8 Plus and another who just bought a 11 pro 3 months ago. Both are fearful of upgrading as they have had bad experiences before and the last thing on earth is that they want to be frustrated with a phone. Both of them also said that this will be the last apple product they buy.

By recovering I mean that I used the Restore phone button under General on the Finder window. At some point you choose the option to restore as a new phone, this installs the latest iOS release and does not restore/recover your installed apps from your backup. I described what I did earlier in the thread, I know there are many posts here now, but it’s a lot to repeat again. It didn’t help solve the problem for some people. I ended up doing this 2 or 3 times, slowly adding my apps. The last time I ran just iOS in low power mode until the drain stopped. It is a painful process when you have lots of apps installed.

good luck

The battery activity showed lots of drain but no apps using the power. I used feedback to complain about the useless report because it wasn’t helping to find what was drawing the battery. I concluded that it was something in iOS causing the drain, hence no app activity doing the drain. You need something like macOS activity monitor to see what’s running. Other people have reported cpu running at 100% but I didn’t get that.
