After A LOT of searching and tinkering with things I have finally fixed this issue on my MacBook. Turned out it wasn’t caused by Apple but kaspersky in my case, the privacy settings were completely blocking the camera, as soon as I unchecked the selection in Kaspersky the camera popped straight back on! 😤

I went through the entire Apple Store process regarding this issue last week. I have a 2019 MBP. I do not have Apple care. They at first replaced a display cable, it was going to be $140 if it worked and $0 if it didn’t. It didn’t work. Next they suggested replacing the logic board for $580. I declined.

Seems their logic board has failed and it’s on me to either spend more money to have a working Facetime camera, or else give up entirely.
