iOS update issues on my iPhone 7 Plus

I updated the new iOS to 13.4 now when I try to make a phone call I can’t hear anything and vice versa. The speaker part on the phoned is greyed out, everything else on my phone works my phone will ring, speakers work, etc.

theres nothing in my settings that will allow me to delete the updated version. I’ve restarted it to no avail. I don’t wait to reset to factory settings. Is anyone else having this issue and is Apple doing anything to resolve this? Like I said this happened after the update so I know that’s what’s causing this.

This is only when making or receiving phone calls. I can make calls through my Bluetooth in my car but not my iPhone itself. Speakers work as I can play and hear music and video. This happened after the latest iOS update.

I turned off my phone for 30 minutes yesterday and when I turned it on still nothing.

I called Apple and insisted they replace my phone if they could not restore it to the way it was before. After 10+ Calls they did. But not without a major battle.

If it’s hardware then why is it happening immediately after an iOS update? Sorry but I don’t agree ....

I don’t care whether you agree. Hardware is hardware. It’s unfortunate that you have a coincidental hardware failure.

Software cannot damage a speaker, but software can disable it. As so many people have same "coincidental" hardware failures, it is most likely a software issue.

If it is hard ware, why there are so many of us having a same issue after the update. Sorry, I was updating a software, I didn't do any hard ware update!!!

Just everyone flood apple with calls saying you want your phone restored to where it was before the update , there’s strength in numbers. And keep calling !!

I just update my iPhone to iOS14.1 (with bug fixing). Unfortunately, it doesn't help with no speaker issue.

Same thing here. After updated to 14.1 the issue with mic persist. Now I just can speak through a Bluetooth headset. The phone still freeze occasionally. Apple still ignore as....

Keep calling Apple and telling them you want your phone back to the way it was. Eventually if enough people call they’ll realize there is a serious problem.
