hdmi connection from mac to android

We purchased a new TV only to find out is an Android. How do I use the hdmi cable to connect my macbook Pro with my android TV? Are there any apps, hopefully free, that I need to download, on the TV or on my mac? Please keep answer simple.

MacBook Pro 13", OS X 10.10

Found out that I had to download a free app - AirScreen - on my Android tv. Once I open that app on the Tv I then go to my computer and pull the window down for display (at the top of the screen icon or the Apple to get the display) that now lists my TVs name and select it. I don’t need the hdmi cable. Happy!! Happy!!

thank you!!
