I phone 7 cellular network disconnected

My iPhone 7 cellular network disconnected and showed a message to update the phone. I did the update after connecting my iPhone to an updated Mac, but still same message and no connection to cellular network.

iPhone 7, iOS 13

Before trying some of the solutions below, make sure that you’re using your phone in an area within your network’s coverage. The cellular signal bars on your iPhone’s should serve as a sign that tells you how strong or weak is the network signal acquired by your iPhone at the moment. If the signal strength indicator is too poor or weak, then that’s likely the main reason why Cellular Data couldn’t get to work as intended. But if mobile data isn’t working even if the signal strength is strong, then the problem is likely within your iPhone system and that is what you should try to rule out. Here are some solutions you can try to fix the issue you're having:

Solution 1. Restart your iPhone

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Solution 2. Toggle Cellular Data off and on

Solution 3. Toggle Airplane Mode on and off

Solution 4. Reset network settings

Solution 5. Remove then reinsert the SIM card

Solution 6. If you still couldn’t get cellular data to work on your iPhone after iOS 13 update, try resetting your device.

You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Hope this helps!

I had a similar issue and after much back and forth found out this is an issue that affects a small number of iPhone 7s. Apple support has a page about this: https://support.apple.com/iphone-7-no-service

I'm copying the text below:

Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 7 devices may show "No Service" in the status bar (even if cellular coverage is available), due to a component that has failed on the main logic board.

These affected units were manufactured between September 2016 and February 2018 and sold in China mainland, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, and the U.S. See below for iPhone 7 model numbers that are covered in this program.

If your device exhibits the symptom described above, Apple will repair your device, free of charge. Your iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program. This program only applies to iPhone 7.

Apple will be contacting customers via email who may have paid for a repair related to this issue to arrange for reimbursement. If you believe you paid for a repair related to this issue, and have not received an email from Apple by the end of March 2018, please contact Apple.

Below are the three model numbers that are eligible for this program. You can find the model number on the back of your iPhone 7.

Eligible Models

Model number Country/Region

A1660, A1780 China

A1660 Hong Kong Macao U.S. (includes Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands)

A1779 Japan

Sorry, I tired all things above, and it did not solve the issue.

As further step, I made a backup to the phone and attempted to erase the content and restore again from the backup. (Setting>General>Reset>erase all the contnets)

Once I restarted on the iphone after erasing the content, The "No Network" and Searching still appearing instead of the network sign at the top of the screen. Now I had a new problem.

After the few steps to set up the new iPhone after erasing the contents, and after selecting the wi-fi network it attemps to activate the phone. However it fails to do that and a message appears "Unable to Activate: An update is required to activate your iPhone. Learn more at apple.com/support". The only option available is to press the "Shutdown" button.

I tried to connect the iPhone and attempt the activation through iTune (Actually it is no longer iTune and it is Finder on macOS Catlonia); the iPhone keep trying to activate through the mac, before it gives an error: Activation Failed: The iPhone cannot be synced. The Operation is time out. I did tried this several times on the last few days with no success.

Now I am completely shut down from my phone.

Any advice.
