MacOS darkwake wakes my computer from sleep multiple times a night and I want it to stop

Hey all! About to get nerdy here.

I have an iMac Pro. Lots of stuff attached to it:

  • G-Tech G-SPEED T3 Raid
  • a normal G-Tech drive
  • a Seagate drive
  • a second display (connected via DVI > HDMI > USB C because old and cheap)
  • Logitech MX-518 mouse
  • Apple keyboard
  • ethernet
  • Amazon Basics USB hub

I've disabled the usual suspects:

  • Put hard disks to sleep when possible
  • Wake for network access
  • Enable power nap
  • Bluetooth
  • Wifi

Turning those off DID fix the literal insomnia where it would wake every few minutes.

But it still wakes roughly every hour or two all night long.

This is annoying for two reasons:

  • It feels like a waste of energy and HD spin-up life time.
  • AND the Gspeed BEEPS LOUDLY when it spins up for some godforsaken reason, waking me up. This is a setting that cannot be disabled.

I've dug through logs, and found two primary culprits for the wake.

[powerd:sleepWake] DarkWake from Normal Sleep [CDN] due to EC.RTC/Maintenance:

or

[powerd:sleepWake] DarkWake from Normal Sleep [CDN] due to EC.RTC XGBE/Network:

So, whatever DarkWake is... it's misbehaving.

Does anyone know if this can fixed? (or of those root causes can be fixed... but that seems like more work)

Can I disable DarkWake and would anything bad happen? I don't give a crap if my computer sleeps like the dead all night long as long as I can wake it up in the morning.

Thank you fellow Apple friends!

My understanding is that the "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" setting would spin them down during normal operation if I wasn't using them for a while, which is not something I want and shouldn't be related to this problem. I need my raid to be responsive and always available.

Ejecting the gspeed before I put the computer to sleep is too annoying. I'm looking for a fix that allows me to sleep the mac and not worry about anything else.

Thanks!

Here's the result of pmset -g

Not 100% how to interpret this. Anything weird jumping out?

I'm not concerned about it showing After Effects as preventing sleep, as I have a render going in After Effects right now, but could the other entries be an issue? I'd assume that items listed as preventing sleep mean they are preventing automatic sleep, not that they would be waking it back up if I manually sleep it, but not positive about that.
