Connecting MacBook Pro to Samsung HDTV - how to see internet display on the tv?

I have late 2013 MBP w OS X Yosemite. Have HDMI cord connecting laptop to my tv. So far so good. I want to watch an internet show on my TV but have no idea how to do so.... any help appreciated. My cousin's play in Chicago was filmed before it had to close due to COVID19 - this weekend is only chance to watch it. Thanks! #StayHome

Sorry - horrible tech challenged and if I didn't want to see this play so badly would give it up right now.....

"Make sure on your TV you select the proper input that your cable is connected to".

Do you mean where the HDMI cord is plugged in?

Do you mean some button or setting on the remote? (I use the Samsung remote to switch to Roku - only time I use it.)

Thanks!
