iPhone (7) Lock Screen Time and Date Color Not Automatically Adjusting

After an update a few months ago, the iPhone time and date colors on the lock screen no longer automatically adjust based on the color of the background.

The color used to change white when the background was darker, and vice versa. Now the color of the date and time stay black no matter what the color of the background is, and the only thing that changes is with dark backgrounds a slight white hue is added to the text, but it does not turn white.

This has been occurring for months, and has not fixed from any more recent iOS updates. I am on iOS 13.3
