After doing the software update (iOS 16.1.1) the clock in my Lock Screen is in VERY BOLD BIG NUMBERS. The day, and date has not changed but the time is in a ridiculously big font. I have googled everything and nothing has worked. Is there a way I can change this?

Apple has not done a good job publicizing this but -- You Can Set The Font On The Lock Screen
To fix the horrendous looking bold font on the lock screen, simply
Presto, your date/time font now appears the way it did in IOS 15 and before. Sheeze...
You cannot change the font size. That’s why your suggestion doesn’t work, or any other suggestion on the web. You can only mess about with and slightly change (rather pointlessly in my view) with the font “style”.
They're saying we're not allowed to change it. From @applesupport on Twitter on Sept 16th: "Thanks for reaching out! Changing the size of the digits for the clock is not an option on the Lock Screen." https://uxplanet.org/the-problem-of-clock-font-size-in-apple-ios-16-18bafeae1200 . This is a good article about why it's not well-executed despite the intention being good.
Driving me crazy too! I went in and changed the photo to the same one in my photo collection. It then opened up an option for font size and adding widgets. The time is now behind my kids faces and a little smaller, but not by much. You do have to change the pic..
I am not sure what “Googled Everything and nothing has worked” means and therefore my recommendation to address this issue may have been tried by you.
Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

It is clearly not possible to change the font size, though you can mess about with font types and colours. Very intrusive, another annoying Apple “update” that nobody wanted.
Unfortunately while this lets you change the font style, it does not let you change the font size. So the time is still ridiculously large and ugly as if we are all 100 years old and can't see without a magnifying glass. Bad call, Apple!
Press and hold on the lock screen, tap the Customize button that appears at the bottom, then tap Add New
Yes, I still have a grumble about not being able to specify the size of the font I want, but compared to the humongous BOLD default time shown in IOS16, the normal-weight san-serif is much closer to IOS15. I tried all of the fonts (some truly hideous), and that was the closest reasonable match. You would think Apple could simply provide an option to display the old font/size.
Always remember -- some genius' new "Feature" is a "Bug" if it cannot be "Turned OFF"...
Thank you but no restarting the phone does not work. The font of the time seemed to have been set at a default that is much larger than before after the software update. What I was able to find online did not seem to help me how to change this setting.
It’s totally ridiculous that you change the “style” a tiny bit (and only on their screens allegedly, but not the size. 😣 Stuck with a great big ugly clock on my screen. Another irritating and pointless change to the homescreen.
I followed your instructions and it does nothing. The Time is still in HUGE numbers. Surely this isn't a new feature! Does Apple think we have all gone blind? LOL
This is easy with the iPhone but I cannot find out how to do this for he iPad. The same approach doesn't work.
Yes, I was very disappointed to see the new ugly flat time representation on the Lock Screen in version 16… the previous elegant font in 15… gone! Perhaps we could be given the choice in the next update.
