Safari favorites order on iPad

On my iPad Pro I have a certain order to my safari favorites, I have this on my favorites bar on top, so it is readily available.

Now since a week or two, IOS or safari is rearranging it in alphabetical order, so my favorites bar is showing the internet-pages starting with a 1 ect.

This is something I did not ask for or changed a setting for. And after putting it back the way I like it, it will change it the next day or so. Arrrgh.

How do I get the setting back that allows me te arrange my favorites in my order??

On your Mac in Safari Favorites bar, are favorites sorted in alphabetical order and Mac and iPad synced via iCloud.

Try editing the favorites favorites In the Favorites bar.

Thank you for replying, but this is not helpful, I do not have a Mac, only an iPad, so no sync.

The page you provided I found and discarded it, because I know how to add and change/editing a bookmark.

I like to know how to keep my already existing bookmarks in my order and not in the alphabetical order that IOS is forcing on me, every time after I edited it back to my order.

The page does not provide an answer to that.
