Double Notifications on iPhone

I recently started receiving duplicate notifications on my XS Max. This is happening with 90% of my apps. This includes Facebook notifications, emails, etc. Any ideas? I'm running ios 13.4.

Hi clay2580,

Thanks for getting back to us with those details. What happens when you use the steps to force restart the device into recovery mode while connected to your computer? I ask because recovery mode should trigger a prompt in iTunes or Finder to "Restore or Update" the device. If you're not seeing this prompt, it could be that the device isn't recognized and I'd recommend working through these steps: If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

If the device is being recognized, do you see any errors when you attempt to "Update" the device? If so, what do they say?

Best Regards.

Hi Clay,

We're glad to hear you were able to successfully update using iTunes. Since the duplicate notifications persist on Facebook and Outlook only, I'd suggest using these steps to delete the apps, restart your device, redownload the apps and test again:

Take Care.

Hi clay2580,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're seeing duplicate notifications for most apps on your iPhone. I can see why you'd reach out about this behavior; I'd like to help. If you haven't already, I'd suggest trying these steps first:

If changing notification settings for the affected apps eliminates the issue, I'd suggest doing the same for the remaining affected apps on your device.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, I'd recommend reinstalling iOS 13.4 to your iPhone. First, make sure you have a backup: Back up iPhone

Next, use the steps titled "Place your device in recovery mode and set it up again" in the following resource to reinstall iOS. This process erases the iOS currently installed and replaces it with a fresh copy, so be sure to follow step four closely and choose to "Update" in order to prevent data loss: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
