Two days ago, my Mac OS Mojave stopped opening attachments sent in emails. How can I fix this?

The option to 'remove attachments' under Message in Mail is permanently greyed out and trying to delete attachments results in the email being deleted. Mac Mail 15.0 Problem with Insert Attachments at End Option Hi, On Monterey 12.1 (MBOOK Pro 2021 14" M1 Pro) Mac mail 15.0 I clicked this button ONCE to be able to make the attached items that I dragged into an email go to the bottom. I hated it and went back. Much to my surprise now it always goes to the bottom. So every time I send an email I have to click on "Insert Attachments to End" to turn it on and then click it again to turn it off to be able to insert the attachment where I want. On...every.....single.....email. What a nightmare. Is this a known problem? How can it be fixed? Thanks in advance for all the help.

Try one of the universal fixes: boot into Safe Mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support) and check there to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.
