MacBook Air not switching on.

Brand new Apple user. 2019/2020 MacBook Air will not switch on. Doesn’t have power button, just TouchID on the top right corner of keyboard. Beeps when charger cable is connected but nothing happens on the screen.

The Touch ID button on the keyboard is also the Power button if you press down on it. If you just got the computer, then you have yet to configure Touch ID.

Thank you so much Kappy. I had setup TouchID and had used the computer before but I never knew it was also a power up button. Thank you, saved me from frustration. Lol I will eventually get away from being an Apple rookie.
