MacOS Catalina 10.15.4 Crashes

My MacBook started crashing randomly after the last update. The screensaver and power saving is off, and the reboots happen if applications are open, or they are closed and it is just sitting idle.

I have 2 Mac's both 2015's. The only way I found to solve the crash is to install Catalina via a bootable USB. Once I restored from Time Machine the crashes came back. One of them doesn't have Norton, the other does, but both would crash out of the blue. It was pain, but I copied all my files off, installed Catalina from scratch, reinstalled my apps, copied my documents back over and no crashes, not even the Norton installed one crashes. I have a feeling the upgrade has issues, not sure if they are security related, or files not updating, but hopefully they will fix it on the next round.

Ran diagnostics data capture tool sent to me by Apple Specialist. Data was gathered then uploaded to their server in order to be transmitted to Engineering for analysis. No resolution or workaround provided at this time.

To avoid potential data loss or SSD wear-and-tear due to the unexpected reboots, I'll be shutting my system down every night after I'm done working until Apple provides a fix.

My fairly new MBP 16inch has been crashing 3-4 times a say since 10.15.4 was totally fine before.

I keep submitting the reports.

it also seems to crash durning power up, i press the power button and it does a double reboot.

this is probably from sleep mode. i have disabled the power NAP to, PLUS i have installed beta 10.15.5 and its still happening.

I hope they get it fixed soon

I am not re-installing my mac !!

Cheers

Mark

I just updated to 10.15.5 thinking that this issue would be fixed. But i am still facing the same issue. When ever some kind of performance is required from the MAC it starts crashing the apps that are running, kindof a domino effect.

I am mostly using the macbook for coding ios apps. Xcode crashes when ever heavy operations is being done, the fan would start spinning in. speed and ultimately everything will crash. If i kill the processes manually when ever i start hearing the fan speed up, then the apps wont crash.

day two update, so my new logic board came with 10.15.1, so i bravely updated to 10.15.5. so far so good, Except with chrome !! with GPU acceleration enable in chrome, some websites are corrupted with lines !! yet another problem, ! perhaps i should have stayed with 10.15.1

its only a few sites, other people with MPB 16 have reported this, the solution is to turn off GPU acceleration in chrome !!

anyone else seen this, ?

I'm getting the same error message, but I'm in Mojave (10.14.6). This crash has been happening off and on for the past couple of months. This is an iMac I got this past August, so barely six months old, and it's been doing this for at least half that time.

I do have Norton running on it, so it might be a Norton issue for me. It seems to restart a lot overnight. When it restarts when I'm using it, it's happened most often when I'm searching for something in Spotlight or using the search feature trying to track down an email in the Mac Mail. It just blinks out in a scary way, like someone pulled the plug.
