Case Sensitive file system

I have a program that i use daily, VIP by akai, and all of a sudden it wont open and has this error message that it needs a case insensitive file system. It was working before and ive made no changes to my mac, what could have happened?

By default, regardless if your Mac's system drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (HFS+) or APFS, it is formatted as Case-insensitive. You would specifically need to reformat it as either Case-sensitive or Encrypted, Case-sensitive for this to change. It should not occur automatically ... even if it was "upgraded" to APFS from HFS+ with an upgrade to macOS Catalina.
