USB C port not sharing display

Hello, my operating system recently updated to macOS Catalina Version 10.15.4 and one of my usb-c ports stopped working when trying to connect an external display.

Macbook m1air detects external display but external display doesn't shows up . I connected usb c to (5 in one connector as usb 3.0 ,ethernet, and type c port, hdmi )and hdmi to vga connecter and connected my vga monitor to that 5 in one connector which is connected to macbook m1 air using type c. My macbook detects display and settings appears but dispaly doesn't works. It's just as in state off .

External display not recognised by MacBookPro 16" External display not recognised by MacBookPro 16" running MacOs Catalina. Detect display does nothing.. Bug is Apple.. this is not rocket science apple..? External monitor say't no signal received.

Plug the power adaptor into that port and it should reset it.

A restart may fix it, also.

Finally, try an SMC reset

It worked on the second time I plugged the power adaptor. Thank you!
