Storing email locally from Apple Mail

My mail server is 93% full and most of that is located in archived and sent mail folders. I'm looking to keep those emails but pull them from the server using Apple Mail. I am using a IMAP account on my hosting servers. Is there a way to create a folder or implement a new account or something so I can download older mail to my computer but have them searchable in AppleMail?
