Wide, vertical, transparent blue stripe across screen

I have a Macbook pro, version 10.14.6, and I opened it up today to find a ~2 and a half inch wide, light blue vertical stripe across the screen. It's transparent, and everything else seems functional, but still kind of annoying and I'm concerned the screen could get worse. The stripe doesn't show up in screenshots. I'll post a shot I took of it with my phone:

My laptop is pretty new, got it only about 8 months ago. I read somewhere it might have something to do with the graphics module chip? Is there any conceivable way I could fix this myself? All the Apple stores near me are closed at the moment of course.

Don’t try any repair yourself, you could screw up something important needed for the computer to boot.

bring it to an Apple Authorised Service Provider for help, or head over to https://getsupport.apple.com and when choosing repair options click send in for repair to get them to collect your macbook for repair.
