Wireless headphones and my Apple TV 3rd gen—how

Hi, I’m trying to use my Apple Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones with my Apple TV 3rd gen, so the neighbors get their sleep. But it doesn’t seem to recognize my headphones. My iPad and iPhone have no problem seeing them. I understand the Apple TV to have Bluetooth, so what’s the problem.

Any assistance would be appreciated. And if for some reason these very fancy headphones won’t work, what will?

Thanks, Steve

You would need an Apple TV (4th generation or later) to directly connect headphones to it.

The Apple TV (3rd generation) will just recognize a bluetooth keyboard.

Apple TV (3rd generation) - Technical Specifications

You could use your headphones by connecting to your TV or audio equipment (wired or wireless). If those do not have bluetooth capability built-in, then you can connect a bluetooth adapter.
