My iPhone is blocking me from reading texts etc

Last night I agreed to an update for my very old phone. This morning I received a text and when I tried to open it the screen asked me for a passcode of 6 numbers.

Sometime during the update I had to enter a numeric passcode but only 5 numbers.

I am stuck. How can I remove the update and go back to normal?
