Tried to update my iOS on iPhone 11 and it is asking for a passcode. Why? In past I entered my Apple ID.
I don’t have a passcode or at least don’t remember setting one up.
also, when I text anyone the texts go through silently...no alerts. Figured it was a bug in iOS, hence my wanting to update.

Here is how to reset a forgotten passcode ➡️ If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled - Apple Support
