hard drive erased

Hi... I by accident erased my hard drive and then my laptop restarted and now my laptop won’t leave a page that a folder with a question mark is flashing every few seconds. What should I do?? did I break it?? Please help

You need to reinstall macOS on your MacBook Air with Recovery mode.

Hi,

If you can't start up from macOS recovery, to manually start up from Internet Recovery, press and hold either of these key combinations at startup:

Option-Command-R
Shift-Option-Command-R

You need to have WiFi connection, though.

when I go to hold down command R nothing happens, the folder with the question mark still flashes
