sync photos from phone to computer. Problem with password

I cannot sync my photo library on my phone with my computer, because the system preferences icould window, where I should check a box for it to sync - it asks for a password, which is not apparently my Apple ID password, and it doesn´t give me options as to where and how reset or find the password
