IOS does not run on Macintosh's, they run Mac OS. IOS 13 only runs on IOS devices including

  • iPhones
  • iPads
  • Ipods

First off, you can't.

iOS is specifically for mobile devices (iPhones, iPads). Mac OS is for your iMac.

That aside, you're probably worrying about the recent Mac OS updates that changes iTunes' functions. Ultimately, you can't do anything about that, but 95% of the changes are cosmetic and can be summed up as 'iTunes.app has been renamed to Music.app'. All your existing iTunes library will continue to exist in the new Music.app.

You might also be confused by the separate product, Apple Music, which is a streaming/subscription service. This is - and has always - been optional. You're not required to use Apple Music if you just want to maintain your own library.

Hopefully that allays your fears.
