When I set the timer on my Clock app, the sound doesn't go off at the end of the time. I'm using iPhone 8 and have the latest software installed. The alarm works, just not the timer. Have rebooted the phone but no joy.

That's weird. Have you tried to change the alert sound (opening clock>timer)?
Yes I have changed the sound but it still doesn't work. It works on my iPad.
Instead of a "standard" reboot, have you tried a "forced" restart?--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support
