Descreen option not available in Image Capture with Canon LiDE 400

I cannot say for sure, but it sounds as if Cannon now offers different software with different options for your newer printer. I suggest that you first contact Cannon to see if that is the case, or if there is a newer software app you can download. Sounds like this is not an Apple problem.

Yes, I do know VueScan exists it's just I don't feel I should invest in additional software when Image Capture does what I need it to do... Usually.

The LiDE 400 uses a USB-C to USB A cable I have plugged directly to my iMac with no hub. What is odd is the scanner appears under Shared. My old scanner appeared under devices. Sadly my old scanner had the USB port break on it so I can't test it to compare.
